A Life Remembered
In Loving Memory of Margaret Elsie Bush
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, sister and mother-in-law on 6 June 2026.
To know her was to know kindness, warmth, and unwavering love. She dedicated much of her life to teaching and nurturing children, a calling she embraced with passion and joy. She had a remarkable gift for making children feel valued, capable, and loved, and she touched countless lives through her patience, encouragement, and gentle spirit.
In August 1999, her life changed forever when she suffered a brain aneurysm. Against overwhelming odds, she survived a surgery that doctors believed she was unlikely to endure. What followed was a long and difficult journey of recovery. She spent weeks in a coma and months relearning the most basic tasks of daily life.
Although many of the memories and abilities she once treasured were taken from her, she never lost her capacity for love, laughter, and bringing light into the lives of those around her. She faced every challenge with quiet strength and resilience, teaching her family lessons in perseverance, patience, and finding joy even in the hardest circumstances.
One of her greatest sorrows was that she could no longer teach as she once had. Yet her love for children remained unchanged, and she found new purpose in her role as Granny. Her grandchildren brought immense happiness to her life, and she delighted in reading stories, sharing moments of wonder, and celebrating their achievements. They knew her as a source of comfort, affection, and endless patience.
Those who loved her will remember her humble nature, her genuine kindness, her warm embrace, and the smile that could brighten a room. They will remember her courage in the face of adversity and her determination to keep moving forward despite the challenges she faced. Above all, they will remember the love she gave so freely to her family and friends.
Her passing marks the second time her family has had to say goodbye. The first came when the aneurysm stole so much of the life she once knew. The second came on 6 June 2026, when she finally found peace. While her loss leaves an immeasurable void, her family takes comfort in knowing that her struggle has ended, her memories are whole once more, and she is reunited with her beloved husband and family who went before her.
She leaves behind a family who loved her deeply and who will carry her memory forward in their hearts, their stories, and their laughter. Her legacy lives on in the lives she shaped, the children she taught, the grandchildren she adored, and the countless acts of kindness she shared throughout her life.
Though we mourn her absence, we celebrate a life defined by love, courage, resilience, and grace.
Rest peacefully. Forever loved. Forever remembered.
